Barefoot on the Sand

Check your sandals in the cubby before you are led to your seats.  Walk barefoot to your table.  The sun is close to setting and you are seated at a table on the sand, right next to the blue green water.  There is the tiniest ripple as the water meets the pristine sand. Dining on the beach at sunset is tres magnifique! It is 80 degrees with a reassuring breeze.  The sun is brilliant, peaking before its exit. Rays spread over the horizon. Slowly the sun inches lower, and pinkish hues take over, take you over.  You are gasping, because it is breathtaking; your breath is truly being taken away.  This Arubian sunset on Palm Beach is enchantment.

The seafood is amazing. The wine is soothing and rich, and it is just so peaceful to be outside, on the beach in such an exquisite setting, with a live saxophone player serenading. It is what I need to visualize today.

It was a mere month ago that we were there – completely overtaken by  the beauty and the warmth. And I experienced a relaxation and a peace that is hard to come by these days.  I want to breathe in that air, hold on to this scene that still exists in this moment. Someone today is applauding this beauty, surrendering to tonight’s sunset, and dancing barefoot on the sand.
