Last Day Thoughts - and Thanks
Yesterday I wrote about my writing process this SOL March, and today I want to address reading and commenting on so many extraordinary slices. There were so many extraordinary slices! As the month went on, there were more and more people and slices I wanted to check out.
First, I want to thank everyone at Two Writing Teachers for doing all the work so we could partake in this experience. And I’m glad that Stacey is back for the grand finale of our writing adventure. (Be well, Stacey.)
I feel like some of the stories and reflections that people shared live in me now. Kim’s poetry “lessons” and centos were just lovely. What a gift to know that a new poet would be revealed and honored each day.
I treasure the story of Lori giving her 7-month-old granddaughter Blair a bath after a day of tea parties and revelry. I’m grateful to Stephanie who gave me faith that there are other ranunculus lovers out there like me, when she wrote about her road trip for plants with her cat in tow.
Who could entertain us better with her cat stories than Elisabeth, chronicling all the misadventures of Smudge, Chipotle, Pickles and the others. Who can forget that she took Zorro with her on a work conference?
I’m grateful that Eva, my local writing-group buddy, was part of this writing challenge so we can share our thoughts at our next meeting.
For next time, I might want to keep a pad next to my computer and write down where I got some ideas from and remember who wrote what where. Like who wrote the hilarious post on chin hair that I still think about on occasion? I believe I forgot to comment on it, but it was wonderful.
The greatest post of all (not that there is such a thing), is Glenda’s post on aging and how not to notice what’s happening in the mirror. Add that photograph of the many botoxed women of Mar-a-Lago and who could stop laughing?
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope to see you on a Tuesday.
The spotlight posts are spot on! I love the humor and the wisdom of these posts. There is nothing like the magic of a writing community, and the blessings are real and rich. I look forward to Tuesday posting now that we have reached the end of March.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out! I loved reading your slices, Heidi, and I appreciate all your comments. I'm hoping to check in on Tuesdays. I'm so glad to add you as a new writing friend after this month-long writing extravaganza!
