No matter what happens

This was an important visit

A second check-in visit

With a beloved person who needed attention

So much to say

And yet I don’t want to say it

A lot of sad moments filled this day

A lot of poignant moments

Dark places too dark to write about

Tears, and not enough laughter

But a deep connection

Deeper than words

Feelings that span the decades

Love that resides in every breath

No matter what happens

This was an important visit.
