Sunrise

New Day Sun with Pelicans, too

It was our last morning here and we walked over to the beach

To experience one exquisite sunrise. 

Pelicans were out in force darting into the water, 

Beak first, claiming their fish. 

Blue and pink hues lined the early morning sky. 

Slowly the familiar orange yellow ball began to emerge, 

And the ocean water shimmered with the reflection of the new day sun. 

A miracle that you don’t get to bear witness to enough

In daily life.
