Joy at the Gym
I recently joined a new gym which included personal training sessions. They were running a special for 5 weeks at the beginning of January. You pay for 5 sessions and a buddy gets 5 sessions free. So I joined with my buddy (who is my husband), and it has been a lot of fun. We have since extended our stay for another 3 months. That should take us to May and gardening season.
We often wind up spending a whole lot of time there, like today, when two hours just passed us by without notice. One of us usually has a session and the other one will run/walk on the treadmill. Then we’ll try different machines to see if we have learned how to use them. Downstairs are massage chairs and a sauna room. The warmth of that sauna has helped carry us through this excessively chilly winter.
I did a bunch of floor exercises and yoga poses at the end and did a bunch of cat-cow poses in honor of Terje’s post this morning that mentioned her exercising before writing. So here is my piece about afternoon exercising before writing. Thanks for the inspiration, Terje.
It is good to be together. And time flies.
ReplyDeleteI love the part of how the sauna is warming you and your husband through a cold winter! I joined a gym too recently and have really enjoyed the classes! During COVID I got use to working out at home. It’s awfully nice to feel the energy of those around you!
ReplyDeleteThe sauna sounds like a perfect winter treat, and I had to laugh at the line about trying out different machines to see if you've learned how to use them.
