Marching on
Hard to believe it’s March 1, 2025! Hard to believe we made it to March, after
three bitterly cold months here in New York. Today March 1st truly came “in like a
lamb” with temperatures hovering around 50 degrees. I took a long walk, and even
took my cat Mister out on a leash in the backyard. For a few hours, I put my
fern and dipladenia plants outside in the sun. I’ve been keeping them in the
garage hoping they’ll make it alive for the spring. (Mister would jump all over
them if they were in the house.)
As dusk nears, this first day of March is going
“out like a lion.” Wind has returned, the real feel is 29 degrees, and tonight
it is headed down to 20 degrees.
So much has happened since last March when I
last blogged here. Lots to reflect on as I look forward to (but also fear) this
daily writing challenge.
We had a high of 53 today w/ a low of 23, which might have been in the wee morning hours. Sunday’s low will be 26. As I write these temps I wonder about their veracity since Musk has all but shuttered NOAA. Ugh! I and the pups enjoyed a respite from the cold, harsh winter (Idaho). I’d love to see a photo of your cat on a leash. I have a cat that won’t wear a collar. She loves to chase dogs. I might write about that this month.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been similar in Pittsburgh. We had a few days of false spring and now it's cold once again. But I know spring is around the corner. On a couple of our warmer days, Sweet Potato also wanted to go outside and she didn't care a thing about waiting for the leash! We just started taking her outside last year on a leash and I think we have created a monster! Hope Mister enjoyed his explorations.
