What I will Miss

Another March SOL challenge is nearing its end.

And I shall miss many parts of this shared experience:

The urgency and structure of writing every day.

The empty screen and then the writing miraculously unfolding.

The noticing of life in a deeper way

The stories that emerge out of the ordinary

The insights and inspiration found in reading all those amazing posts

The affirmation that “I am a writer.”

“Writers live twice. They go along with their regular life, are as fast as anyone in the grocery store, crossing the street, getting dressed for work in the morning. But there's another part of them that they have been training. The one that lives every second at a time. That sits down and sees their life again and goes over it. Looks at the texture and details.”

  1. I love how you described writing the daily slice as "miraculous unfolding" because it truly does.

  3. "The noticing of life in a deeper way" is the why behind me participating in the SOL challenge.

  4. It's amazing how writing "miraculously unfolds." Noticing life in a deeper way, I love how you put that. It's an important reminder to slow down to take it all in. This year seemed fast and furious. I did it, but it feels as though I barely stopped to take notice. Something for me to work on.
