First Birthday Joy
Noah’s 1st birthday party was pure joy. The party was scheduled for 12 PM, designed to be post nap, but Noah did not take his nap that day.
I thought it was silly to invite 7 babies/toddlers and their families and hire a singer for a whole lot of money. I was wrong. It was just so fun (and Noah and I had the best time ever). The singer and guitar player my daughter hired were so lively and interactive, singing the greatest hits of the baby/toddler set. “Rubber ducky, you’re the one, you make bath time so much fun…” Why was that playing in my head two days later?
They brought rattles, a colorful canopy and bubbles, and Noah and his buddies were captivated by the music and the dynamic performance. “If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!” Lots of clapping ensued. Lots of dancing too. They even played Beatles songs (homage to my husband) and Pink Pony Club (one of my favorites!).
And don’t you just love: “Daisy, daisy, give me your answer do, I’m half crazy all for the love of you. It won’t be a stylish marriage, I can’t afford a carriage… but you’ll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.”
Pizza and salad were served, and of course we all sang as the “Happy 1st Birthday Noah” cake was presented to him. “Happy Birthday to Noah, Happy Birthday to you.”
Then we started to chant: “Are you one….?” We stopped.
Yeah, he’s one.
