Just that kind of day
Do you ever have one of those days where you don’t wash your hair because it’s raining and windy and you don’t have plans to meet anyone and you’re going to the gym tomorrow? Meet today.
It’s a foggy, drizzly, rainy day with a wind that is threatening to get much stronger as the day progresses. Mister is looking out the open window, hopefully realizing it’s not a day to go out. He can meow a whole lot if he doesn’t get his daily outside constitutional.
Today is an ordinary kind of day, I suppose, if there is such a thing as an ordinary day. I plan on grading a few papers, sorting out the newspapers to be thrown out, reading a few articles I’ve put off, and going to Stop n Shop to buy the few things I have forgotten to buy elsewhere – cat litter, olive oil, cleaning spray, etc. I really should organize/revamp the desk in my bedroom which has been overtaken by random items – books I finished, books I plan on reading, cosmetic bags from a recent trip, photographs… the list goes on. Maybe I’ll save that for tomorrow.
Well, it looks like I’ve almost gotten my blog post written today! Cross that off the list. And I’m happy to report that Mister has decided to nap instead of begging to go out. It’s just that kind of day.
You perfectly described 'that kind of day' here! I'm having one as well. Rain, cat time, dribs and drabs of errands and housework. A filler day! And thanks for reminding me to order litter :)
ReplyDeleteIt’s that kind of day here, but I’m out in it. Ugh. I loved Mister’s idea (and his pic) to nap instead of venture out.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. This was a rainy day to stay inside and hopefully accomplish a few tasks. Writing our slices is one of them!
ReplyDeleteYour cat is named Mister! I love it! I think your day sounds fairly relaxing w/ the rain as a soothing background sound, I hope. I don’t wash my hair every day but do condition it daily. When I don’t the day is uncomfortable. I need water drenching my face to help my eyes be less dry.
